Happy New Year! I’d like to thank you all for the very generous & thoughtful gifts. I hope the holidays were filled with love, fun, and relaxation.
Many activities have been planned for January in the various subjects. Here’s an outline of what t0 expect this month.
Religion We’ll be learning about the parts of the Mass: the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. We will review the new mass responses. Vocations Awareness Week is January 9-13.
Reading We will continue to read the stories and complete the Comprehension, Spelling, and Language Arts activities for Theme 3 in Just For You. We will start our next book, Banner Days.
Math We’ve already learned how to add 2-digit numbers with regrouping and will
move on to 2-digit subtraction as well. Keep practicing those flash cards.
Handwriting Cursive!
Science/Social Studies A special project on communities has been planned. We will also complete activities to celebrate Martin Luther King Day.
We are continuing to collect cans for the Food Pantry. Our goal is 5 cans per student. January will be a busy month for us. We will end the month with fun activities to celebrate Catholic Schools Week!
