I am very excited to have such a wonderful fifth grade class. Change can be difficult but the fifth graders have adjusted nicely. We are currently studying place value of whole numbers as well as decimals. We have taken our first chapter test and are awaiting the results.
I have asked the students to practice nightly skip counting which will help them in the future as we get ready for fraction work. They should also be doing multiplication flash cards on a daily basis. All these practices will make new concepts easier to understand and make homework a bit quicker to get through. Please be sure to use the website that is listed in the cover of the Math text for extra practice in all areas.
